Can anyone ship lithium batteries as hazardous materials?

Per the requirements of the federal government, whoever packs hazardous materials must be properly trained in the hazardous materials regulations.  There are multiple ways to accomplish this, but our recommendation would be to find a reputable HAZMAT training company that offers a course that covers the shipment of lithium batteries.  In addition to this, the individual logistics carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL) have their own approval requirements depending upon what you want to ship and by what means (ground, air, etc.).  Freight companies may or may not have additional requirements.  If you pursue this approach, it is important to maintain your compliance as you are subject to unannounced inspections by the US DoT as well as the FAA if you are doing air shipments.
